The Department of Applied Sciences and Humanities, imparts instruction to students of the various engineering discipline and caters to their needs in the areas of Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry and Professional Communication. The basic idea is to develop a strong scientific foundation to pursue a successful engineering career.
Mathematics is the base of all engineering as well as technical branches. A sound knowledge of mathematical tools is given to make a technocrat to excel in his profession. Chemistry taught to freshers is of an applied nature. Physics instruction also aims at providing sound knowledge of the basics required for various branches of engineering. Professional Communication is of particular importance for impressing the verbal and written skills of students. Creativity, lateral thinking and communication skills are essential components to progress in any sphere. Students are encouraged to develop these through group discussions, quizzes, mock interviews and presentations.
